To ensure Trade Associations and Chambers (TACs) are well-positioned to be effective agents of change and to support the continued growth of the Singapore business community, SBF proactively supports TACs in delivering value to members, implementing robust structures and strengthening internal capabilities. Our resources leverage the extensive experience and deep knowledge of TACs and industry experts to provide valuable insights and practical solutions. 

TAC Sector Transformation Map

Co-created by TACs, for TACs, the TAC Sector Transformation Map (STM) was launched in January 2025 after a year-long consultation process with the TAC community. Supported by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Enterprise Singapore, the TAC STM is a multi-year roadmap that charts out the path ahead to help TACs redefine their role in the ecosystem, reimagine partnerships, and rethink programmes to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

The TAC STM is underpinned by four inter-connected strategies and 19 recommendations:

TAC Management and Governance

Effective management is crucial to the success of TACs. Getting the fundamentals right includes developing and implementing a structured approach to how TAC’s objectives are set and achieved, how risks are monitored and addressed, how performance is optimised and how good governance is maintained.

The TAC Administration Guide was rolled out in January 2025 to help TACs learn, determine and implement necessary frameworks and processes. Combining best practices and templates, the guide was developed using various sources including survey findings on governance practices in TACs, the TAC Governance Framework, SID’s Corporate Governance Guides for Board and NVPC’s Handbook on Effective Non-Profit Boards.

TAC Digital Playbook

Developed by SBF, SGTech and PwC, the TAC Digital Playbook is a comprehensive guide to support TACs in their digital transformation journey. Built on the 3S Framework—Strategy, Solutions, and Skills, this playbook offers actionable insights, tailored strategies and practical tools to enable TACs to enhance their operational efficiency, adopt innovative technologies, and better serve their members.

Using the playbook, TACs can assess their digital readiness, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement impactful solutions.

To complement the playbook, the Digitalisation of TACs (Digi-TAC) Programme provides eligible TACs with up to $30,000 in yearly grant support to adopt pre-approved solutions.
